2025 is set to be a pivotal year for the real estate sector, marked by significant challenges.

After a period of dwindling trust that impacted transaction volumes in 2024, we are now witnessing a revival of confidence, largely attributed to well-established industry figures. The new Quality Charter introduced by the Developers Section of the Chambre Immobilière will play a crucial role in fostering this positive shift.

Opportunities for proactive investors

While the market for existing dwellings performed robustly in 2024, 2025 is expected to see a resurgence in transactions for newly constructed homes, driven by governmental aid, tax incentives, and improved purchasing power.

This momentum is anticipated to restore market dynamics to pre-crisis levels, maintaining a buyer’s market ripe with opportunities for proactive investors.

Fresh challenges

However, 2025 will also bring new challenges to the residential sector:

  • A pressing need for more resilient and innovative financing models beyond traditional bank loans, both for developers and clients.
  • Private developers must actively address the demand for affordable housing, reinforcing the country's attractiveness for young talent.
  • Advancements in digitalization and industrialized production methods are essential to mitigate rising construction costs.
  • A strong focus on user experience and satisfaction must guide all strategic decisions.
  • The ability to build faster and more cost-effectively will be crucial in a regulatory environment shaped by new European taxonomy requirements.

Adapt your strategy to emerge as a leader

The post-crisis landscape will look significantly different from what preceded it. Those who proactively adapt to these emerging challenges will position themselves as leaders in the sector."
